Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was a student at her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She was a harpsichord student and the flautist piano for 3 years. Lennox was able to live with the stipend she received from her students and work part-time jobs. Lennox, while studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, was not happy about her performances compared to that of the other students. She started to think about other options. Lennox was a part of a group known as Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. She left the band before her band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent competition New Faces. She was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until 1980. She met Dave Stewart, with whom formed the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut album Diva. It was released in 1993. The album garnered a lot of praise, both from the press and critics. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album debuted in the month of October 2014. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul jazz tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four tracks that she improvised for piano that Lennox made available in May 2019. The E.P. is an accompanying piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called"Now I'll Let You go... It is also her first independently released album. Lennox started her solo career in 1992 with the release of Diva, which featured several hit songs such as Why and the song Walking On Broken Glass. Medusa is her album of studio work from 1995. The album features covers of some songs, including The No MoreI love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. She has released six solo studio and compilation albums. |
